About us
Who We Are
We help families in Amroha get through the hardest weeks of the year.

The trust
Alwafa Educational & Welfare Trust
We work from Amroha, in Uttar Pradesh. When a family runs short, we bring what they need to them.
In Ramadan, that is a sack of flour. In winter, a thick quilt. When school starts, a bag of books and pens. Every photo on this site is from one of those days.
Our impact
What we have done so far
Rough totals, rounded down.
- Families reached with food and ration
- 2,000+
- Blankets, quilts and kits given out
- 2,000+
- Children supported with school kits
- 500+
- Distributions held in and around Amroha
- 100+
These are the trust's own estimates, rounded down. The photographs record only part of the work.
Our story
How it started
It started small. A few people saw neighbours going without, and they gave what they could.
More people joined, and the work grew. Some nights we still knock on doors after dark, a blanket bag in each hand. The idea has not changed: go to the family, and put the help in their hands.

Our approach
How we work
Four habits behind everything we do.
We listen first
We ask a family what they need before we bring anything.
We think past today
A sack of flour helps a family today. A school kit helps a child through the school year. We try to do both.
We work with the people around us
Local masjids, schools and neighbours help us find the families who need us most.
We show you where it went
We tell you what your money did, and we have the photos to show it.
- Your money goes to the families, and we spend it with care.
- We tell you what your gift did.
- Our accounts are open for you to see.
- We treat every person we help with respect.
- We keep learning, and we keep doing it better.
